IT LIST: September 2020

To my friends, family, and clients,

I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are embracing the fall season as we approach October. I want to extend my full gratitude to the courageous firefighters and first responders who were on the frontlines to contain these devastating wildfires along the West Coast.

In this month’s IT List, I'm pleased to share some exciting updates on some of my latest listings: pending in under a week on a fairy-tale home in Broadmoor, and a compelling new price on an eclectic Madison Park condo. I also spotlight a sought-after winery on Whidbey Island, dive in to the most recent market trends, a motivational testimonial from a previous client, and a sneak peek of the latest addition to Realogics Sotheby's.

Situated in the heart of Broadmoor, this Anhalt Tudor home combines classical architectural detailing with thoughtful updates for the way we live today. Known as the Millard-May house, this was Anhalt's favorite home and he punctuated it with oodles of delicious details: a timbered entry dormer, a dramatic vaulted beamed ceiling, stained glass windows, a Dutch door and brass nailhead trim. Embracing its super-power (charm and ambience) at every turn, this home has been completely updated by the team of Bosworth Hoedemaker and Garret Cord Werner.

Seattle Home Prices Still Second-Fastest Rising in the Nation

Residential Inventory at 20-Year Low for Puget Sound

As buyer demand grows and inventory in our real estate market is volatile, competition among buyers increase and home prices start to trickle upwards. Mortgage rates hover around historic lows (2-3 percent on average), prompting potential buyers to act fast and take advantage of these ideal market conditions.

"Working with Laura Halliday was a pleasure from the beginning of our process to the end. Our first impressions of Laura were that she is honest, direct and very hardworking. We were nervous about being a buyer in the current market environment. There was little inventory and many buyers looking in the same neighborhood as us and in our price range. We put ourselves in Laura’s capable hands and began the process of finding a home. The first time Laura took us looking at homes it became apparent that she knows everyone in the neighborhood we were looking in, and everyone knows her. It was also clear to us that Laura is very well respected – we always felt a sense of confidence having her on our side. We looked at many properties and made several offers on listed properties with stiff competition. During this time, Laura always remained positive, telling us not to worry, that our home was out there. Laura called us one day with a private listing she wanted us to look at. We looked at the house, two days later and within 24 hours we had mutual acceptance. We could not believe our good fortune. Within 4 months of looking, we were the owners of what we can only describe as our PERFECT home and the credit goes to Laura. We laughed that we did not know who was happier – Laura or us! She is simply fantastic."
Luxury is an experience, not a price point.
